California Central Valley Wet Lands
The Photography of Jennie and Chuck McGregor
The California Central Valley may be hot and dry in the summer but in the winter, rains flood fields, which in turn attracts migratory birds. Old stubble and solitary trees poke out of the flooded fields and nature provides the photographer with one of her greatest gifts - the reflected landscape.
Some favorite places to photograph in the Central Valley include the Vic Fozio Yolo Wildlife Refuge near Sacramento, The Merced Wildlife Refuge near Merced and Staten Island Road north of Rio Vista.
